June 16 is a very special holiday for commemorating the display of bravery of the Youth of 1976. "The June 16, 1976 Uprising that began in Soweto and spread countrywide profoundly changed the socio-political landscape in South Africa" - SA history June 16 Soweto Youth Uprising.
The bravery that the Youth of 1976 and the great global freedom fighters displayed, was a path laid out for today's youth to be able to carry the baton so that they can push through present-day global issues and struggles so that more generations can be propelled to higher levels of supporting humanity towards liberty.
Pushing through struggles and global issues isn't only a history story, but an ongoing fight that young people push through with today's present-day issues too. The Hon. ARK Crown Ambassador of Social Betterment for South Africa, Hon. ARK CA Sir Clement, conducted a youth event yesterday June 16, 2022. The training was focused on issues that the present-day youth need to learn as they navigate through numerous present-day global issues.
The topics highlighted at yesterday's event were "Drug Abuse" and "Youth for Human Rights". A report of this event, with pictures, will be shared soon.
Let us celebrate and salute all the historical freedom fighters and all those who are called to support the survival of humanity, today. Below is a video of a snippet from a celebrated movie called, "Sarafina!". The movie highlighted some of the struggles that our great freedom fighters and Youth pushed through so that the Youth of today can live through the freedoms they didn't have. Some of the lead actors were names that are still celebrated today, like, Whoopi Goldberg, Lelethi Khumalo, Somizi Mhlongo, and Mbongeni Ngema, to name a few. May history remind us that there is always hope for the future if we work together; regardless of race, creed, religion, age, colour or educational background. Through the right type of guidance, training and camaraderie, we can all achieve great things for all global descendants of the Cradle of all nations.
